Description/Job Summary

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will normally be in a climate-controlled office.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Create invoices, when needed, and process daily bank deposit daily. Process Daily Cash application to include credit cash received to open invoices.

• Generate Daily Membership report for management use.

• Maintain selected general ledger accounts for the Chamber including, but not limited to: A/R, Prepaid Accounts, Fixed Assets, and Deferred Revenue.

• Maintain QuickBooks general ledger including, but not limited to, A/P, AR, bank and G/L reconciliations.

• Prepare and record journal entries as needed.

• Review and mail monthly all non-dues invoices.

• Assist with month-end close out and reporting.

• Activate new members when payment received.

• Maintain database of customers and members.

• Drop members for nonpayment with management approval.

• Maintain an update of event sponsorship sales to budget.

• Assist SVP with cash management processes.

• Assist with year-end audit.

• Other special projects and duties as assigned.

Required Experience

• None

Preferred Experience

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.

• In lieu of degree, at least 2-3 years' experience in a related field.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general financial reports.

• Ability to effectively respond to questions from customers, managers, and employees using tact, courtesy and cooperativeness.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure including ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

• High level of mathematic problem solving, reasoning and interpretation.

REASONING ABILITY

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Ability to deal with a few abstract and concrete variables, exercising judgment, resourcefulness, ingenuity, and initiative.

• Ability to exercise discretion while managing confidential information.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of computer based financial systems.

• QuickBooks and/or Blackbaud experience preferred.

• Strong Microsoft office skills with a specifically high skillset in Excel and Word.

• Detail oriented with good organizational skills.

The employee frequently is required to sit and/or stand. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
